European Funding - Skills for Scotland

The European Union’s Erasmus+ programme is a significant £12 BILLION programme operating until 2020 which provides a tremendous funding opportunity for sporting organisations in the UK. This EU programme is FREE to access and provides grants to apprentices and employers to fully fund  trips to any of the EU countries for professional development of apprentices or for CPD upskilling for staff.

Skills for Scotland staff have assisted clients from a number of sporting disciplines to secure more than £6 MILLION from the EU Erasmus+ Programme to enhance the skills of their workforce.

Our experienced staff specialise in working with clients to assist them to design, organise and manage Erasmus+ travel awards. Skills for Scotland staff have successfully assisted clients such as The FA, the Scottish FA, the Welsh FA, the Irish FA and a large number of professional football clubs in the Premier League and Scottish Premier League to access funding for staff and player development.

What We Do

• Evaluate client objectives and help them identify the most appropriate funding programme.
• Identify appropriate European partners using our unparalleled experience and extensive networks.
• Meet with clients to formulate and draft the funding application prior to them submitting the funding application.
• Provide advice and guidance to the client in relation to the management, compliance and reporting processes required by the funding body.
• Ensure that clients have a stress-free experience from conception to completion.

• To improve skills levels in young elite athletes and their coaches through exposure to European coaching innovations.
